I Have Crooked Teeth. Can I Still Get Porcelain Veneers?

If you aren’t happy with your smile, 4405 Dental Studio uses porcelain veneers to rejuvenate your smile. The versatile nature of veneers enables Dr. Andrew Edmonds to correct numerous cosmetic flaws, including stained, gapped, chipped, and misshapen teeth. While dental veneers do a lot of “heavy lifting” in cosmetic dentistry, can they correct crooked teeth? Keep scrolling to find out.

The Dental Veneer Treatment

First, let’s get the basics out of the way. What is involved in dental veneer treatment? Typically, you need at least two dental appointments. The first appointment is where much of the magic happens. Under anesthesia, we shave off a small portion of your enamel to create space for a veneer. We then take your bite impressions and develop models to fabricate your veneers. Meanwhile, your dentist installs temporary veneers to ensure you don’t feel embarrassed about your smile.

During the second appointment, we remove the temporary veneers and install your permanent ones after making changes for a comfortable fit and natural look. Once Dr. Edmonds installs veneers, stains, gaps, and chips magically disappear from your teeth.

Can Dental Veneers Fix Crooked Teeth?

If you have one or two crooked teeth, you may wonder whether there is a faster way to correct this misalignment without taking the usual route of braces or Invisalign. Yes, there is! Porcelain veneers can visually correct slightly misaligned teeth. However, dental veneers don’t straighten your teeth. Instead, the dentist places wafer-thin coverings on the crooked teeth to change how your teeth look.

If you have severely crooked teeth, we advise you to undergo orthodontic treatment and seek veneer treatment later. Actually, some patients are so happy with their straight teeth that they no longer need veneers. However, while they have straight teeth, others aren’t happy with their shape, size, and color. Whatever the case, we only recommend the treatment. You make the final decision as the patient.
